Creative Collaboration for Prayer Jar

Over the last couple of weeks, students and staff have had the opportunity to express their care and concern for Ukraine by writing prayers and placing them into a collective prayer jar. The jar is adorned with a warm bronze and black sign that was the result of quick, creative collaboration. The symbols of love and peace were chosen by Year 10 student Donay 10SBAB, who volunteered her time to produce the artwork which was then given to the Design, Technology and Engineering team to laser cut and mount onto the jar. We hope that this will offer members in our school community one practical, beautiful way to manage feelings of worry or sadness as the situation in the Ukraine develops.

“ Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ”
