Congratulations to Xavier 2B on his excellent results in a number of national and international Mathematics competitions. Notably, Xavier received a Silver Award within the Australia Region for his recent entry for the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad 2022, meaning his entry was among the top 20% of participants. Xavier also received a Credit in Year 3 Level in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), which is outstanding as he is currently in Year 2. Meanwhile, Xavier was also awarded a High Distinction from the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) for Grade 1 Piano Comprehensive. Well done, Xavier!

Congratulations to Victoria 10MSMA, who, having completed her AMEB Grade 4 Trombone exam, achieved a B+ Credit with merit. Congratulations also to Harry 8JLOM, who received an A with Honours for his Grade 4 AMEB Trombone exam.

Congratulations to Sterling 10SBAB, who recently received the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award. The ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork within both the school and the broader local community. At the same time, the award recognises those who display strong values, such as doing one’s best, respect for others and “mateship”, characteristics that are integral to Australian society.

Congratulations to Tahlia 11RGOG on being the 2022 recipient of the Muriel Matters medallion. The award is named in honour of Muriel Matters (1877-1969), an Australian-born suffragist, lecturer, journalist and educator. The award is given to a student who shows initiative and commitment to the democratic process, and who exhibits selflessness and personal challenge in taking action to make the world a better place. Tahlia's award is well-deserved in recognition of her involvement in public speaking, advocacy and service, both within and outside of the College.
