Thursday March 16 saw perfect weather conditions for the Middle and Senior School Sports Day at SA Athletics Stadium. High attendance, high levels of participation and a great spirit that carried over from pre-Sports Day events made for an extremely enjoyable day.
Students displayed examples of great athletic ability, teamwork and effort to produce what was the most competitive Sports Day in recent memory. After leading by various margins throughout the day, Malvern eventually pulled off their first victory since 2008. More pleasing was the closing of the gap between 1st and 4th place to just over 200 points (after a gap of nearly 800 in 2002).
We now wish those athletes who will be selected to represent the College at the Interschool Athletics Carnival in April and later events all the best.
