The boys' athletics squad put in a magnificent effort on Achilles Cup Day, Thursday 28 September, to comprehensively win the B Grade competition. This wiped away the disappointment of relegation after the 2022 event (when we could field only a diminished squad) and sees us return to what we believe is our rightful place in the A Grade for 2024.

From a total of 127 events, Concordia athletes achieved 83 placings – 35 first, 28 second and 20 third – but just as important, our boys filled all but a handful of events, meaning valuable points were gained by competitors throughout the day, podium finish or otherwise.

While the ‘14 and Under’ age group finished a creditable fourth out of eight schools, Concordia won the other four age groups.

Every squad member is to be commended on the way they supported each other and filled in whenever we needed to make last minute alterations. The camaraderie we have often labelled as ‘Concordia spirit’ was a highlight!
