In the lead up to Easter we have been incubating chicken eggs in Yangadlitya (Middle and Senior School Library). All nine of the fertilised eggs hatched this week with the first one hatching Tuesday evening and the last one hatching in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A number of students have been present to see chickens hatch with many more enjoying cuddles with these very loved chicks. ELC students have visited throughout the process to help with “Candling” the eggs (checking if there is any sign of growth in the eggs during incubation), as well as counting how many eggs we had and how many of these had developing embryos. During the holidays these chicks will relocate to Mrs Carman's farm where they will continue to be spoilt and loved along with all of her other chickens.
