Concordia College is once again supporting Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) by taking part in ‘Walk My Way’ walk-a-thons.
As part of a College-wide focus on ALWS’s work in the final week of Term 1, on Thursday 11 April 60 secondary-aged students will walk The Women’s Pioneer Trail (17km or 26km).
Students involved in the walk will be seeking sponsorship to raise money to support ALWS’s refugee appeal. Every $26 raised enables one refugee child, in either East Africa or Myanmar, to attend school for one year!
Our goal this year is to raise $36,400, enough to send 1,400 children to school (i.e. one for every Concordia enrolment).
To sponsor us, please go to our Concordia Walk My Way fundraising page.
Click on the orange ‘Fundraise’ button at the top. This will take you to three options:
- “Walk My Way Concordia Campus” – here you can sponsor individual students (names to be added soon)
- “Walk My Way - Combined Primary Campuses Walk” – here you can sponsor year level teams
- “Challenge” – here you can sponsor secondary-aged students choosing to take on awareness challenges.
More detailed information is being sent to parents of students taking part in the walks.
Thank you for your support; our students greatly appreciate it. We hope we can once again bless hundreds of children with an education they may otherwise not receive.
Check out ALWS’s Walk My Way webpage for more general information about this amazing project.
