Middle and Senior School Sports Day

The 2026 Concordia College Middle and Senior School Sports Day was a spectacular showcase of House spirit and athletic talent at the SA Athletics Stadium. This year’s event was characterised by a highly competitive atmosphere, with final scores revealing a new champion team that had not win this event for a number of years.

After leading for much of the day, Cheltenham secured their victory in the final relays, finally wresting the cup from Highgate who have held it for the last two years. The final standings were as follows.

Final Results
  • Cheltenham: 2,665 points
  • Highgate: 2,621 points
  • Malvern: 2,291 points
  • Winchester: 2,289points

A major highlight of the day was the continued use of electronic timing and photo-finish technology provided by Athletics SA, ensuring accuracy in the closely contested track events. The energy remained high throughout with the final baton relays ultimately deciding the winner of the Bartel Cup.

Thanks to Jesse McKinnon, Josh Ralph and Vittoria Peresano, who did the bulk of the work leading up to the event. A special thanks to Matt Smart for his accuracy of recording and output of the results, through a program that he has designed.

Following this successful event, our focus now shifts to the Interschool Athletics Carnival, where a team of athletes will represent the College against other leading South Australian schools.
