Well done to Stella (11NMCG) and Daisy (10BWHA), who recently represented SA at the U16 Emerging Matilda's Championships in Melbourne. This is their second time representing the state at this event, which is a great achievement.
Towards the end of term 1, Jacob (10HLEW) took part in the French-Australian Regional Informatics Olympiad (FARIO), an invitational competition supported by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) in which students answer a series of problems using logic and coding to find the desired solution. The published results of 29 students, for which he was the only representative of SA, shows that Jacob was placed ninth in the order of merit for 2026. This is an amazing achievement. Congratulations, Jacob!
We are thrilled for Class of 2025 Concordia graduate Jess C, who has won First Prize in the Unley Youth Art Showcase. The Unley Youth Art Showcase, part of SA Youth Week, and hosted in partnership with Carclew Youth Art Centre, encourages young artists to express their artistic talents in exhibition. Jess was successful in the 18–25 year old section for her Year 12 artwork, the self-portrait, ‘Specimen #201107’. The exhibition was held at Hughes Gallery at the Fullarton Park Community Centre in April. We congratulate her on this achievement, a great recognition of her talent and creativity. As part of the prize, Jess has also been awarded a mentorship programme at Carclew. We wish her all the best in her future artistic endeavours.
