String Soiree

Week 6 was a busy and exciting week for our string students. On Tuesday 2 June, our Intermediate and Senior String students spent the day at the Nunyara Conference Centre, participating in workshops with specialist staff in preparation for the String Soirée on Friday 5 June.

At the String Soirée, our four large string ensembles—Bambino Strings, Crescendo Strings, Intermediate Strings and Senior Strings—performed for family and friends. These groups included students from Years 1–12, and it was wonderful for everyone to hear the progress that has been made so far this year.

A particular highlight of the evening was the debut performance of our youngest ensemble, the Bambino Strings. Many of the students in this group began their string journey in the Year 2 String Program last year, making their performance especially rewarding to see.

We were also fortunate to hear Lani (11RAMO) perform Movement 3 from the Oboe Concertino in F by Kalliwoda with the Senior String Ensemble.

Thank you to all staff and parents for their ongoing support of our students and the String Program.

Winter Winds

On Thursday 10 June, the Chapel was filled with music as students from Years 2–12 showcased their talents at the annual Winter Winds concert. Families and friends were treated to an evening of outstanding performances from our Concert Bands, Big Bands, Jazz Combo and Rock Band.

The concert celebrated the breadth and diversity of the Concordia Music program, with students presenting a wide variety of repertoire and styles. From energetic jazz and contemporary rock to traditional concert band works, there was something for everyone to enjoy. It was a wonderful evening of music-making that brought together students, staff, families and the wider community in celebration of the hard work and dedication of our young musicians.
