Recently our Year 5 students from the St Peters Campus joined the Woodlake Reserve Action Group and local community volunteers for a tree planting day at Woodlake Reserve.

The students were excited to get involved and worked hard throughout the morning, planting native seedlings in a designated area of the reserve. Working together in teams, they helped plant more than 100 trees, making a valuable contribution to the ongoing restoration of this important community space.

The students showed excellent teamwork, helping each other dig holes, carry seedling trays and make sure each plant was carefully placed in the ground. Their positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in were evident throughout the day.

Members of the Woodlake Reserve Action Group and community volunteers were quick to praise the students for their hard work, cooperation and respectful behaviour. Many commented on how impressive it was to see the students working so well together and taking pride in the task at hand.

As well as helping the environment, the experience gave students a chance to learn about the importance of protecting local habitats and supporting native wildlife. It was a valuable hands-on learning opportunity that highlighted the difference people can make when they work together in their community.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 students for the enthusiasm they brought to the project.
