On Tuesday 8 September, the St John’s and St Peters Campus ELC children came together for an exciting day of learning, exploration and adventure in nature.
The children embraced the opportunity to experience the bush through active play and hands-on exploration. As they explored the area, there was plenty of energetic movement, with children running, climbing hills and trees, rolling down slopes, swinging from branches and lifting logs and sticks. All that activity certainly worked up an appetite!
Our bushwalk took us through muddy puddles and across a stream, where the children carefully balanced on stepping stones to make their way across. We then discovered a beautiful area alongside the running creek, surrounded by trees, moss and fallen logs. The children enjoyed watching the water flow and exploring this special part of the bush, using their bodies to climb over and around the fallen trees.
It was wonderful to see the two campuses come together through play and collaboration. Some children even created their own soccer game, welcoming others to join in.
Bush Day was a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect with nature, challenge themselves physically, use their imaginations and build new friendships through play.
