At ELC, sustainability is embedded into everyday life through our Eco Warrior initiative, empowering children to recognise that even small actions can make a meaningful difference.

Each day this term, one child proudly wears the Eco Warrior vest and takes responsibility for caring for our environment.

They switch off lights and air conditioners when they are no longer needed, check that taps are turned off, feed our chickens, sort rubbish into the correct waste streams, and add food scraps to our worm farm for composting.

Rather than simply teaching children about sustainability, we invite them to lead it. These authentic responsibilities foster independence, environmental stewardship and a strong sense of agency.

Children see themselves as capable contributors whose choices positively impact both our learning community and the world around them.

By embedding sustainable practices into our daily routines, we are nurturing lifelong habits of reducing waste, conserving resources and caring for living things.

Our Eco Warriors remind us all that there is no age limit on making a difference—and that today's young learners are already creating a more sustainable future.
