Learning and Growing through Social Responsibility
We aim to develop in all students a sense of social responsibility and personal commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
We offer a variety of service learning projects that operate in the wider community, providing students with unique personal development opportunities and learning experiences. We aim to assist students in learning the value of service and advocate a culture of service in various extra-curricular activities.
International service projects have included a partnership with a group of schools in the Siassi Islands; the Kalahari Experience in South Africa; Habitat for Humanity in Cambodia, The Philippines and Fiji; and Football Outreach Vanuatu.
Closer to home, students have participated in service learning projects including the Red Centre Experience, which aims to develop indigenous connections in the Alice Springs area, and supporting a Homeless Centre in Adelaide.
Service Learning provides opportunities for student leadership development, creative problem solving, teamwork, spiritual development and the ability to learn and appreciate both differences and similarities in cultures and environments.
