Middle School Transition

  • Transition to Middle School

Understanding the Transition Process

We understand that the transition from primary school into a secondary environment is an exciting, but sometimes daunting, step. Our staff work hard to help your child to be happy and confident. The following elements of our transition program have been designed to assist students and their families during this important time.

Family Interview

The family interview is the first step in your transition to Concordia College. The information we gather prior to and during the family interview will help us to prepare for your child's arrival at Concordia.

Introduction Day

New students going into Years 7 and 8 are invited to attend an ‘Introduction Day’ in Term 4. Students get to know one another, meet teachers they are likely to work with in the following year, and begin to find their way around the College.

Orientation Day

All students commence the new school year with an Orientation Day designed to help students to settle in and become familiar with school routines. Orientation Day for 2020 will be Tuesday 28 January.

Middle School Information Evening & Welcome Events

Parents of students in Years 7, 8  and 9 are invited to attend a Middle School Information Evening, and a family welcome event hosted by the P&F.
