Individual Achievements
- Lani (Year 11) and Marco (Year 12) were selected for the Division 1 Superband and performed at the Gala Concert in front of 5,000 people
- Marco (Year 12) also won the Composition Competition and the Future Finalists Competition, and was selected as one of only six students from the entire festival to perform an improvised solo at the Awards Ceremony
- Lewis (Year 7) was selected in the Division 4 Superband
We congratulate all students involved for their efforts across the weekend, and particularly Mattson Jazz for achieving first place in Division 1. This is truly an incredible achievement, especially given the size of this festival, which features music groups from South Australia, interstate and even New Zealand. While we are pleased with these excellent results, what was most remarkable was the growth, dedication, resilience, musicianship and team spirit displayed by our students. Despite a packed schedule they remained motivated, focused and endlessly supportive of one another, representing the College with distinction.
Finally, thank you to the band and choir directors and the support staff for helping to make this wonderful experience possible for our talented Music students.
