Rina van Schalkwyk (Consultant)
Rina van Schalkwyk joined the College Board as a Consultant in August 2020.
Rina’s background is in law where she spent five years working in South Africa as a lawyer in the National Defense Force. More recently, after spending several years living in the United Sates before relocating to Australia, Rina made a career change to Counselling.
Rina is now involved with the National Redress Scheme as Counsellor at Victim Support Service, a Redress Support Service Provider, providing counselling and support to adult survivors of child sexual abuse in their engagement with the Redress Scheme. She recently began to facilitate training sessions for Blue Knot Foundation - National Centre of Excellence for Complex Trauma and also operates a private counselling practice.
She has interests in the areas of mental health, wellbeing, and ethics. In her spare time Rina enjoys sewing, quilting, reading, going for bush walks with her family and travelling.
She is married to Brink with two children (Class of 2013 and 2019) and has a strong connection to Concordia.
Rina is a member of St John’s Lutheran church, Unley.
